Description:  Today we will be discussing the book, “The Shoemaker’s Wife” by Adriana Trigiani.  Ms. Trigiani states, “This is a riveting historical epic of love and family, war and loss, risk and destiny, one inspired by my own family history and the love of tradition.”  Then, we will receive our book for July titled, “ The Swans of Fifth Avenue”, by Melanie Benjamin.  This is the story of the friendship between Truman Capote and peerless socialite, Babe Paley, and other notables of the time.

Sara Kanau, with the Alabama Department of Archives, will be presenting “Alabamians and the Olympics.”  Come learn of all the people of Alabama who competed in the Olympics.  An activity will follow, and we will get to do one of Sara’s favorite exercises!
