A Conversation about Head Start and Early Head Start Services for Montgomery County, Alabama Children and Families
The Office of Head Start is hosting a community meeting on Monday, August 20, 2018 to present information about the federal Head Start and Early Head Start funding available to serve pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and preschool age children in Montgomery County, Alabama.
Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide comprehensive child development services to low-income children from birth to age five and their families. Head Start's primary purpose is to prepare children to be ready for school. Early Head Start programs provide family-centered services designed to promote the development of the youngest children. In Alabama, Head Start grantees and delegate agencies across the state collaborate with community partners to provide high-quality education, health, mental health, nutrition, and family and community engagement services to approximately 14,738 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their families.
This competition is open to all community-minded organizations committed to early childhood education, youth development, health promotion, family support services, child care, and community development agencies interested in providing Head Start and/or Early Head Start Services. New entities or existing grantees can apply for this competition.
The deadline for registration is 12:00pm EST on August 19, 2018. For more information please email email@example.com or call (404)562-2927
