Movie Day
1:30 PM -
Movie Day Pitch Perfect (2012) Arriving at her new college, Beca (Anna Kendrick) finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together. When Beca leads this a cappella singing group out of their traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mashups, they fight to climb their way to the top of college music competitions. Pitch Perfect is an outrageously hilarious laughout-loud comedy that also stars Anna Camp (The Help), Brittany Snow (Hairspray) and Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids).

Department of Archive & History Alabama Highlights
10:30 AM -
Department of Archive & History Alabama Highlights “Alabama has a rich musical history made up of gospel, soul, the blues, country, and rock and roll. The people of Alabama have made great contributions to all of these genres and more—people like Hank Williams, Sr., W.C. Handy, Nat King Cole, Candi Staton, Dinah Washington, and Lionel Richie. We will pay homage to the native Alabamian musicians of yesterday and to the many great artists who came here to record music in iconic studios like Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and FAME Studios. During the program children will dress up like famous musicians, make a craft, read a book, and play several games dealing with music”!
