Loan Periods
The Loan Period is 3 weeks for all items except both VCR tapes and DVDs which circulate for 3 days.

There is a 1-day grace period on all overdue library material. However, if the material is overdue for 3 or more days, the grace period is revoked and the patron is charged an overdue fine for all overdue days.

A patron may borrow a maximum of 15 items at a time. 5 items of media materials may be borrowed at a time (included in the total 15 items). To check out additional items, a patron must reduce the number of items already checked out to a quantity of less than 15.

Exception: Out-of-county families who purchase an out-of-county family card are allowed to borrow a maximum of 25 items at a time. Included in that total may be a maximum of 5 media items. To check out additional items, an out-of-county family card holder must reduce the number of items already checked out to a quantity of less than 25.

Borrowing privileges will be halted when a patron has 5 overdue items or when overdue charges reach a maximum of $10.00. Patrons who accumulate fines in excess of $10.00 must reduce the overdue charges below the maximum amount in order to have their borrowing privileges restored.

A book may be checked out and returned to any one of the library branches, regardless of the branch from which it was checked out.

Exception: Media materials such as books on cassettes, books on compact discs, videos, DVDs, music compact discs, children's kits, etc., can be checkout out and returned to the following designated libraries only: Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library, E. L. Lowder Regional Library, Rufus A. Lewis Regional Library, Pike Road Branch Library, Pintlala Branch Library and Hampstead Branch Library.

A patron will be charged a $10.00 replacement fee, plus the cost of the book or media item, when an item is lost or damaged.
